Otis Gibbs: Indiana Native, Legendary Songwriter and Planter of Trees
A Holler On The Hill Featured Artist is Otis Gibbs, a Wanamaker, Indiana native turned Nashville transplant. Otis is a one-of-a-kind human being and it shines through in his songwriting. Storytelling is what Otis does best next to writing some of the best songs in music today–which led him to start a podcast called “Thanks For Giving A Damn.” On the podcast Otis hosts musicians, journalists and historians alike to tell the best kept stories, lessons and personal memories.
You’d also be excited to learn that “Thanks For Giving A Damn” led Otis to host Country Built on Pandora where he tells the history of country music to millions of subscribers. While being a storyteller, songwriter and folk-singer, Otis is also an advocate for nature and has planted hundreds of trees in Garfield Park–right where Holler On The Hill is taking place–over the years. Check out this video that documents the planting of his 5,000th tree.
